Assignment 3

This is my poster from the smaller topic "deforestation". It is about two futures that huamn being can choose based on their altitude towards the Earth. One is living peacefully and another one is destruclive lives around the world.
First, I use pen tool to draw the jig-saw line to separate the poster into two parts. Then, I use pen tool to draw the river whereas the trees is copy and paste from the second assignment. I search a picture of a rabbit and put in a layer and draw on that picture by using the pen tool. The cut down trees and the saw are also use pen tool to draw them out. In addition, I use the pen tool to draw the arrow.
This poster is divide into eleven layers which are background, separate line, grass, river, rabbit, forest, saw, cut down tree, arrow, slogan and symbol.
The background of the lower part that I have use brown and grey colour using the gradient to mix them together. The trunks that I have also use brown plus light brown in the middle so that the trunks won't look flat. I have use light blue and white colour to show the river is flowing. Moreover, I have use the blur effect on the river to show the river is flowing. The background of the upper part has used the green colour and gradient to show that the ground is not flat. I use the brush tool to draw the grass. The saw is made up of blue, red and grey colour. The colour of the arrow that I is a bright red colour whereas the colour of the rabbit is white.
The slogan titiled " The Future Is In Our Hands" has use the cool breeze in the SVG Filter effect make the words show as the poster. Then, I use the arc upper in the warp effect so that the words become half circumstance shaped.

The References For My Assignment 3

This is a poster that I use for reference. I decide to write my slogan in the bottom left corner of the poster. This can attract people to read my poster just like I get attract by this poster. This poster is from: picapicadesign.net/artwork/50/

The Sketches Of The Poster

This is the sketches of my poster. My smaller topic is deforestation, so this poster is about the forest in the world. My poster is separated to two parts. One is very peaceful jungle where there are many trees and animals live together. Another part is where all the trees are being cutting down. My slogan is "The Future Is In Your Hand". This slogan means you will decide what kind of world we will live in the future. A place full of plants and animals or a place full of free land and buildings. This poster is to let the people to realise the bad effect of deforestation if they continue to ignore this problem.

Tree

My smaller topic is deforestation, so I choose to draw a tree. Below are the steps I draw the tree.

First of all, I use the ruler and the grip to easy me to draw. I draw the trunk and the branches using the pen tool. This is in a layer named 'trunk'.

Then the next layer is the leaves. For the leaves, I also use pen tool to draw it. The leaves spread all over the branches which means the tree grow very well.

Next, I draw the ground using the pen tool. As for the shallow hole around the trunk, I use the ellipse tool to draw it. This is in another layer named 'ground'.

Then I draw the leaves on the ground by using the pen tool too. This layer is named 'fallen leaves'.

Then, I started to fill the trunk and branches with brown colour. I use the toggles visibility to close other image except the trunk and the branches so that it is easier to put the colour. I have used the gradient to colour the trunk.

Then, I colour the leaves. I choose different density of green colour to show the position of the leaves. Some leaves is darker means that they behind other leaves. I have used the gradient to bring out this kind of effect too.

After that, I colour the leaves on the ground. I use dark green because this leaves is all old leaves already. I did not use gradient for these leaves.

Then, I colour the ground with different kind of brown colour. The hole I use darker brown for it.

After finish the tree and the ground, is the turn of the background. I decided to make the background as the sky. So, i mix the light blue, light grey and white colour together for the sky. I use the gradient to make this the sky looked like this. The whole picture has finish.

Finally, I put my symbol on the right bottom corner of the picture. This is the final artwork of my tree.

Sketch Of The Tree

My small topic is talked about deforestation, so I choose to draw a tree. This is because it is the main subject of the topic. The tree is grow on the ground and there are many leaves fell on to the ground. The tree grow very well before the deforestation happen.

Assignment 1

First, I use the pencil tool to draw the hands. The fingernails are used pencil tool to draw them out. These hands are put in one layer named 'hand.' These hands represent the human being because these are the hands of a human.
Next, I use the pen tool to draw the tree. This is because I think using pen tool is easier to draw the outlined of a tree. The tree is put on another layer named 'tree.' The tree had cover part of the left hand but the hand still remain unchanged because the tree is on another layer. This tree represent the forest. It also means the last tree of the Earth.

Then, I draw the axe out on the right hand. The axe is drawn by using the straight line and rectangle tool. The axe is put on the third layer so that it will not affect the right hand. The axe represent the destroy. The axe is the weapon human use to cut down the tree from the ancient time.

I changed the outline to their suitable coloured by using stroke so that the outline will not show out and spoilt the symbol.The hands I use the light orange coloured. the part of the leaves is green in colour and the trunk is brown in colour. The axe is make up of black and brown colour.

I use the light orange colour for the hands because this the normal colour for the human hands. I use the colour tool and colour guide tool to colour the hands. Beside that, i also using the gradient to bring out the effect of the depth of colour. This colour also strongly symbolise human destroying the Earth using their own hands.

The tree and the axe I also use the same method when colouring the hands. The green colour represent the Earth and the colour become lighter means the trees in the Earth becoming lesser. The brown colour means the Earth becoming harder to live. The axe is the weapon to cut down the tree. The human taking the axe to cut down the tree means they still do not reliase what they are doing is causing the global warming. This is the complete of my symbol.

Sketch Of My Symbol

The title of my symbol is "Deforestation." This is the causes of the global warming. It is symbolising human being cutting down the trees . This means human being destroying the Earth using their own hand. They are aware of what they are doing but they do not want to take action to overcome this problem. So, the deforestation still keep on going until they cut down the last tree.
